Surface Design

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and moved to Honolulu, Oahu at the age of 5. We moved back to Tennessee when I was 11 and my family has lived there since. I am currently a student at Savannah College of Art and Design majoring in interior design with a minor in illustration for surface design.

My passion and curiosity are my greatest strengths. I find beauty in the smallest aspects of life and my constant wonder of the world around me fuels my creative endeavors. My emotions are the driving force behind my artistic creation (whether I like it or not). I am a complete culmination of everything I have seen and experienced in my life. My memories and nostalgia are always influencing my work.

My sense of interior design is all about feeling. If I am able to transport someone into a new world when they step into a room, I will know I’ve made it as a designer. I want to turn places known as mundane or bare, like hospitals, offices, or schools into places one can be inspired, revitalized, and comfortable.

While my profession is interior design, I have a love for the fine arts. I am interested in developing custom patterns and illustrations for curtains, fabrics, and upholstery and being able to put them into spaces I design. I would love to revitalize existing buildings that have been neglected or forgotten.

Being able to bring buildings back to their original beauty and elevate them to a new status and purpose is something I feel I was made for.

I find myself constantly inspired by other types of artistic design and expression such as set design, fashion, traditional fine arts and even music. My artistic process always has a soundtrack.
